It is a real good value...

There isn't anything wrong with this bow, I would have liked it better, if the models name had been applied to the upper limb in a way that it could be removed. The leather grip, looked like it was attached to the bow by a child. I removed the grip, turned it around and properly mounted it. I already have a 57# custom Howard Hill longbow, so I ordered a 29# one from SAS for playing around with. Looking at both bows side-by-side, the main thing, I notice is the bend of the limbs, the SAS bow looks like it needs a string that is an inch or two longer to reduce the brace height of the SAS. The SAS was very loud in the beginning, but it tamed way down after I put some cat whiskers on the string. I found the 29# bow to be a little under powered for the distance I want to shoot. I had purchased some 500 spine carbon arrows for it, I should have gotten 600's. I left the range a bit happy and a bit disappointed, but I liked the SAS bow well enough to come home and order another one in 36#. I would have liked to buy a 40# one, but then my new 500 spine arrows might be too light. Like I said, I like the SAS longbow, but I am going to try a longer string.

Great First Longbow

Great quality for the price! Shoots great. I recommend upgrading the string to the Flemish. Night and day difference.

Nice bow at a good price

I think that this is a nice bow. I can't comment on the draw weight as I don't have a tillering jig and don't pull anywhere near 28"; for the same reason, I can't comment on stacking. For me, the bow feels good. As for accuracy: practice, practice, practice. I have tried many bows, some side-by-side, some over a period of several trips to the 3D range, and I can assure you, it's not about the bow. I think this is a fine bow. The grip was not comfortable for me (I have an arthritic wrist) but a bow glove fixed that. My only problem is that at 68 inches it is a tad long for me. I seem to be settling in at 55-60 inch bows at 35 pounds. All that I shoot is 3D so my accuracy or lack thereof is affected by many factors. This bow is priced right so if a longbow is in your future the Pioneer is certainly worth a look.
