SAS Prophecy 80lbs. Self-cocking Pistol Crossbow

SAS Prophecy 80lbs. Self-cocking Pistol Crossbow

Regular price $57.00 $79.00 Sale

Overview:

The very latest version of the worlds best selling pistol crossbow is based on the innovative Barnett Commando Pistol of the late eighties & early nineties. The Prophecy Pistol Crossbow is easy to cock and simple to use but it should not be confused as a toy. The Prophecy is very powerful and can release a crossbow bolt at high speeds over a good distance. Unlike full size crossbows, pistol crossbows do not require a lot of energy to cock, so many crossbow bolts can be fired in a very short period of time. The Prophecy is a break action, semi-automatic loading pistol crossbow having an 80 lb draw weight with a high quality wood-feel aluminum stock, adjustable rear sight, and bead foresight.

Highlights:

  • 80 lbs draw weight
  • Arrows travel up to 165 FPS
  • 6-4/5'' Power Stroke

Package Contents:

  • 1 x Prophecy 80 lbs Pistol Crossbow

Not a TOY!!!! (as others have stated)---but VERY COOL for $50

Cons: Directions need improvement- Would not hurt to be a little more specific in regards to installing the 'Pressure Pad' (and the rubber pads) when installing the "prod" or what I call 'the bow part'. The Safety appears to malfunction once in a while (I tried this while the gun was NOT Loaded) ...the Safety DID work while the gun was loaded...Anyway....just as well for me....because THIS IS NOT a TOY....and the level of respect I give this thing is VERY HIGH- This cross bow would send an arrow through the thin part of your foot...NO DOUBT!!! "Self Cocking" is a misnomer (false)- the user does the 'cocking'...and a pair of good high quality rubberized gloves is suggested for added 'gripping power'. I am 52 and have some tendon issues in my arm...so after 15 shots - the next day I felt a little pain in the elbow (but that is why it is a 'sport' I think) THE PROS (good) Packaged well Aluminum Darts (3) are good of course one bent after hitting a concrete wall LOL Accuracy: VERY GOOD (I realized that TWO hands must be used (unless you have a 'rest' of some sort)...but I like using the bow with two hands from about 30-40 ft) Sometimes an arrow/dart will fly astray by about 1 ft At 35 ft I was hitting a 16 inch pattern consistently At 12 ft I was able to hit a 1.5 inch circle Power I bought the speed track 60 pcs darts/arrows and they work fine... The darts hit hard REALLY hard at 16 ft ....I call it a gun because that is what it feels like to me. Construction : GOOD Hopefully the Cocking arm will hold up The 'string loop' appears well made Safety Glasses should be worn with this weapon For the money I recommend this weapon. (I do not use a scope)

This little crossbow is so fun! Reasonably accurate to 20 yards

Arrived on time with all other accessories I purchased. Have taken this to the local archery range when I shoot my regular compound bows. This little crossbow is so fun! Reasonably accurate to 20 yards. Haven't tried thirty yards yet. It also gets a lot of attention from other archers. They want to try it out, and everyone is impressed with it. Well constructed, easy to assemble (buy a stringer), and I've had no problem with my string (I wax it every twenty shots or so). I also waxed the rail using a quality car wax. Again, no issues with string fraying or breaking. Nothing but good times with it so far. A great buy, with a high fun factor.

Powerful and compact!

Great little package, although trying to string by oneself is a battle. I managed to do it, by placing the string over the left side of the limb, pulled string to the right (it was about 2.5inch short) put the handle of the crossbow against your right knee with the left limb on the ground, push down your knee (pushing the crossbow forward bending the left limb) Now as you're applying tension to the left side, grab the string with one hand and the right limb with the other, now pull back on the arm until you can loop the string around the limb. Now it's strung and ready to fire! Apply crossbow string wax (not included) and get firing!! Do NOT dry fire this crossbow, the limbs may snap. All in all, everyone should get one of these, if not just for show! They look cool as heck!

This thing is whicked and definitely not a toy.

I'm not a weapons person so I don't know what best on market is but this crossbow is whicked. Got one couple months ago and was so impressed I got another as wedding gift for brother and he loved it. I also bought 60pack of plastic bolts, extra string and some bar grease. The aluminum bolts are more accurate but are only good for 1 or 2 shots but the plastic bolts seem to last forever. I have shot crossbow atleast 500 times with original string but down to about 50 plastic bolts cause wife has terrible aim. Once you get sight lined up it's s pretty accurate at 10yrds but also shoots decent at 30yrds but with about a 10-12" drop. This thing is flat out awesome and im so happy I bought this one it was great deal great quality just all out great. I definitely recommend buying this.

This is a whole lot of fun but be aware, it's not a toy

Santa got me this for Christmas, and it's a blast. Let's be clear: this is not a toy, and I recommend any adult who lets the child handle this do so with complete supervision. I did watch the video to ensure that I was putting it together properly. It's got smooth action and a safety mechanism. I've tested it from 10 ft to 30 ft, and the bolts definitely penetrate styrofoam and wood. The bolts that came with the kit were lightweight aluminum with the basic tips. If you use this a lot, be prepared to stock up on bolts. This is definitely five stars for fun.
