Bored During Pandemic? Try This!

During the pandemic, many parks and outdoor activities were shut down. While more vaccines are making its way throughout the world, staying indoors should be the baseline for fun. This, however, does not mean you cannot have fun with either family or small groups of friends. You can have a small gathering where you play board games or watch a movie but why not step that up?

Archery Bow Shooting Recreation

There is a new activity to do with your friends and family, and this can be either an outdoor or indoor activity. Archery can be set up easily and all you need are targets, arrows, and a bow. Not only will you learn a new skill, but you will also have an activity that you can do with your friends. There are only a few requirements and steps to set up a range. First you will need to find an environment that is suitable to your needs, preferably an enclosed space like a garage. Second, find your targets and place sturdy materials around the target, as well as the walls surrounding your range to prevent any accidental damages. Finally, once you are satisfied with your range, take your bow and arrows and start practicing. Making a range is not difficult and even less so is having fun. All you need are some friends and you have yourself a little competition to see who can score the most amount of points. The only important thing is to make sure that your environment is safe for archery since you would not want a hole in your wall. Make sure that the material used as protection is sturdy and can take an arrow: wood, cardboard, or foam are good examples.

With all that in mind, note that archery is still a sport and starting out may be difficult. Pulling the bow does require a decent amount of strength and aiming at the target requires a lot of focus. If done poorly, you can get minor injuries so while it is a new activity, safety is the number one priority. Everything that was mentioned: bows, arrows, and targets can all be bought at Southland Archery Supply and with that, may your journey in archery be a far one!
